These sculptures have mineral titles which suggest a transaction with non-human elements. They alter sight - whether seen as an object or help to the eyes their textured and tinted planes distort the view. Each contains a slice of mirror, which includes the mask’s surroundings in their form, and if worn, bring the environment onto the head of the wearer.

“As lenses through which to scrutinise the world, they make a single, authoritative vision impossible – each eye must see through glass of a different colour, texture and angle. It is a work that offers a re-weirding.” Hettie Judah 2024
